McKenzie Therapy (MDT)

McKenzie Therapy (MDT) is a system of patient care that focusses on mechanical pain. Most musculoskeletal pain is mechanical in origin, meaning that every day movements and postures can cause or aggravate the pain.  Certified MDT practitioners will assess the patient's history and use repeated movements to classify their pain into unique subgroups, which then allows them to prescribe specific exercises for the patient to do at home to reduce their pain, and increase their function. The patient becomes an active participant in their care, and since they are doing the exercises at home multiple times a day, they often recover much quicker than traditional methods. Many times the patient can be pain-free in 5 or 6 visits.

  • "Excellent! Dr. Dan Kirk has helped me more than any of the MDs I had been in contact with since I got injured at work. I have actual relief without drugs! Ana and Colleen, the massage therapists, are the BEST at working out muscles that need extra work. I highly recommend!"
